Curtain rods should extend 3-6 inches past the window frame so that the curtains will hang correctly. In some cases, you might want to extend the rods even further.
Bedroom curtains should be floor-length, just barely touching the floor without dragging or bunching at the bottom. They should be long enough to hang from a rod that’s at least three inches above the window casement.
To make pinch pleated drapes, you’ll need to measure your windows, purchase the right amount of fabric, sew the drapes, measure the width of the fabric, determine how many pleats you need, then fold and sew each pleat. You can also “fake” pinch pleats, using pleater tape and pleater hooks. The best way to make pinch pleated drapes, though, is to leave it to us. Choose your hardware and determine the right height and width for your drapery rods. Mark the placement of the rod, then mark where the brackets should go.
